CHF BC and BCNPHA welcome first ever National Housing Strategy
On November 22, the federal government released the details of its long-anticipated National Housing Strategy.
CHF BC and the BC Non-Profit Housing Association (BCNPHA) were present at the announcement in Vancouver with the Hon. Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development.

Happy Birthday CHF BC!
The Co-op Housing Federation of BC is celebrating its 35th anniversary and there’s no better way we’d like to do that than in the same spirit of growth and excitement that marked our beginning back in 1982.
New co-ops are being built for the first time in decades, existing co-ops are coming up with innovative solutions to grow, redevelop and remain viable and new governments are ushering in an era of unprecedented housing support. None of it would be possible without the vision of our co-op pioneers and founding members, including Merrilee Robson and David Lach. We sat down with David and Merrilee on the eve of our anniversary to hear their insight into CHF BC’s history and what’s on the horizon.

CHF BC recognizes long-time co-operators
When CHF BC opened its doors 35 years ago, housing co-ops were already well established in British Columbia. And some of those original members are still living in their co-op communities today!
On Friday, March 24 CHF BC presented its first Century of Co-operation awards to 18 co-op members whose age plus the years they have lived in a co-op equals at least 100 years. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Westin Wall Centre (Vancouver Airport) in Richmond.
